FORT MYERS, Fla. (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins take the field for their first game on Saturday.
While it’s only a spring training game, it could be a good indicator for how the team will play this season. After last year’s 99-loss season, fans should feel pretty good that their favorite players are feeling confident about heading onto the field.
“We’ll win games if we’re healthy enough. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that” said Twins General Manager Terry Ryan.
So far at spring training, the Twins are on track to be healthy and be competitive. Joe Mauer has been taking bullpen sessions since the first day of spring training. He spent a majority of the 2011 season on the bench, recovering from knee problems followed by pneumonia.
